But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
Then saith he unto his disciples,
The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
He called the apostles and set them apart to be His representatives. He gave them power to act in His name in benefit of all to whom they would minister.(Matthew 10:1) Did He intend for only those who lived at the meridian of time to be blessed by this organization, or was He establishing the pattern for His church, so that even those of us who live today could reap the same blessings? In Ephesians 2:19-20, Paul declares

but fellow citizens with the saints, and the household of God;
And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets,
Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone.
Christ demonstrated His pattern and Paul testified of it! I add my testimony to Paul's, that indeed, Christ's church is still built upon the foundation of apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone! I invite you to listen to the words of one of His apostles of these, the last days.
